1/3 Cessna O2 airfoil advice needed
Hi All,
I’m in the process of researching and designing a 1/3 scale O-2, and I’m wondering if I should go with the full scale airfoils (NACA 2412 inboard to a 2419 at the tip or modify them (maybe a bit thicker overall) to make it a bit more forgiving in slower flight? Any ideas will be appreciated Smokey |
Those should work fine. You could go 2-3% thicker but I doubt you need to. Think you mean 2409 at the tip
|
Yeah, 2409, had a bit of a fat finger moment :o
Thanks for the advice, it’s much appreciated |
I agree, at 1/3 scale there is no reason not to use the scale airfoils. Concentrate on building straight and true and keep it reasonably light and you will have a winner.

Thanks Chad,
I’m hoping to bring it in under 25kg wet, but with about 10kg of motor in it I don’t fancy my chances:( |
