Scaling function in Acad

As an Autocad excersise, I try to draw a 3d model of a Yak 9, based on some good three views I found on the net.
I have drawn the top and side view outlines, and I am now trying to place the formers in the right places.
I find that I cannot scale my polyline formers differently each way, and stretch them to fit both outlines at the same time.
Is this true , or have I just missed a function? I have used Turbocad before, and I like the scaling function there, where you can specify scale factor in two directions, or drag into place.

Regards

Lars

RE: Scaling function in Acad

Scaling polyline in AutoCAD you can only give a total number to scale by. Now, if you make a simple block of that polyline, then you highlight it and go into the Properties command you should be able to input what scale you would like the block to be for the x, y, and z directions. When I need to stretch things like you are talking, this is how I normally do it. Hope it all goes well.
