Scratch Building 10% Scale DC-8
 

I am currently designing the plans for a DC-8 Airliner. It is 15ft WS and 20ft long. It should be 3-4 more months before the plans are finalized. I will then cut out all the pieces myself and begin construction. It has (4) .91 DF engines with fans and retracts. This is my question to anyone that can help. I am going to have to fabricate the retracts myself. Does anyone know where I can find detailed drawings of the full scale DC-8??? I have tried all the obvious places, Museums, libraries, books and have had no luck except for the Nat'l Air & Space Museum and theirs are extremely pricy. My intentions are to build the landing gear as close to original as possible. This is the only area of the plane that I have not completed yet. If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it.

Try Bob Banka he has lots of 3 views and drawings of almost anything. Maybe he can help. Good luck.

Some years ago Michel Knol from has built a 1/10th scale DC-8. Maybe he still has drawings of this airliner.
