CADD program?
Over the summer of 2004 I attended a Duke University sponsered program at the University of Kansas for high scores on the ACT when I was tested the year before as a freshman in highschool. I've always been interested in aviation, specificaly RC, and will be recieving my student pilot's license at 16 this May. I took an intro to aerospace engineering course and was able to use a program called AERO-CADD to create 3-d wire models of aircraft. I enjoyed the program so much because of its easy use and accuracy I came home to New Orleans with a vow to purchase the program. I got online and to my dissapointment I found the basic program to cost $750. [&o] I was wondering if there were any other similair CADD programs designed specifaclly for aviation that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. ($250 or below) I need something with x,y, and z axis and capabl[8D]e of auto generating a rib set. Also I want to get a 3-d look around at my model. Does anyone know of a program that might fit this description. I can't stand drafting my plans on 3' by 3' sheets, its driving me nuts! [:@] Thanks in advance for any help!

RE: CADD program?
Hello there!
I believe it is possible to aquire a watered down version of 3D Studio Max for students. 3D Studio Max allowes for detailed modelling of aircrafts and just about anything else. It does not however concentrate on line drawings. You may wish to go here http://www4.discreet.com and make some inquiry's. Oh! and remember to visit the second thread on the forum about Modelling Software, you may find some usefull information there. Here is a few things that I have done using 3D Studio Max, it should give you an idea of what it can do for you. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mplayer/screenshots/f5.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mplayer...ots/f_gear.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mplayer...ots/r_gear.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mplayer...shots/seat.jpg Best of luck Noel |

RE: CADD program?
If you like Aero-CADD, you should call them directly and ask if they have a student version or will give a student discount. Then you can tell us more about it, as I haven't heard of it before. ;)
