Lining Up Templates on a foam wing for hotwire cutting???
 

Can anyone give a beginner to hotwireing some tips on how to line up the templates on both ends of the foam block so when I cut the wing, it comes out straight (or with the washout I want to put in).

Also, what do you guys use to attach the template to the foam?

Draw a center line on the template from center leading edge to center trailing edge. Use that line measured from the table to get the right placement for height and wash out on the foam.

I hold them on with small nails, but watch that they are in the foam and not in the cut line. Hot wire won't cut nails.

What??? Since when does a hotwire not cut nails? Just kidding.

I have the Mother of all power supplies for my hot wire, 0-120v@0-25amps, it will not burn through the nails:p?????? Am I doing something wrong:D :p

I do the same thing with a fine pointed pen. I also have a center line on the templetes so I can line up the templete3s for wash out/in.
