I have a question for you to answer. Is this your first plane or just your first build? If it's your first plane, this isn't the plane to learn with. Get yourself a trainer kit and put it together first, then all the questions will be answered for you

12345.

If its a .45 plane put either a .41-.61 in it.
If you need cowls and canopys take messurements, run to the hobby shop and see what they have that will fit it.
Most .40 class planes have the same demensions as long as the models are the same.
