i posted here because i figure its an aircraft-design related post.. but...

everyone been to the qaxu hype-machine yet?

saw the ad in septembers Model airplane news.. so vague

basically i gather its an anti-gravity model airplane.. errr aircraft? err... ? that creates some kind of strong magnetic force that repels againsts earths magnetic force.. and basically defeats gravity?

i saw the video but dont have a way to listen to the sound yet since im at work, ill listen to it when i get home..

i dont know.. lets the rumors begin?

I saw the stupid ad in RCM as well (the first time I'd seen it).

It's SOOO stupid, that I made a mental note NOT to check it out because I felt right away that it had nothing to do with the hobby.
I guess someone will take a look and tell us about it... but it won't be me.

Their ad obviously worked. If they have enough money to make that website that tells you nothing and get our attention it better be good. Watch it be a 9,000 dollar model of a ufo. I bet when we do find out what it is it will be something not worth our time. just my 2 cents.

I agree. Kudos, qaxu for your tantalizing advertizement,what ever the heck it is, but you guys should at least have a website that actually says something. Did anyone actually take the time for that video to load? i sure as heck didnt.

I went to the site when I saw the first ad several months ago. Nothing there.

More ads in magazines...I haven't been back...don't plan to go back.

Bad marketing. If they have product to sell, they should have put on the site in the first place.

no information, just more hype, they sure know how to build the suspense, i hope its as good as they are making out!

Yeah, but it's top secret, so they're not supposed to tell us....

we just give them money, and they'll send us a box that can't be opened... (Well, it can, just the guy in fatigues that came with it will shoot you...)

wow are you guys a tough crowd!

I have no freekin' clue what Qaxu is but I am curious if it's in our hobby. I would say hold your judgment until you see it. It could be cool. FWIW.

Well guys, just popped onto their site.
Downloaded the video.. Again, jsut a fancy ad that dosen't say much, just that we'll be impressed. Oh, and it's due fall 2003. I guess we'll find out in about 12 days!!

Since we are all in teh dark, how about we all start a guessing game, and the correct answer will.. be right..

I think / expect it to be a toy. a neat little park flyer UFO type thing.

Agree with Dr wogz looks like some flying saucer thingy...not sure how it could relate to our hobby other than it flies...but by experience advertising like that almost always promotes low quality stuff...i duno i guess we'll have to wait and see.

I got the info from a young guy working for them. He was buying a bunch of rc plane hardware (nuts and bolts etc). He said he couldn't say what it was, only that it will be a very big 'surprise'.
He also told me it's pronounced Ka-zoo, like the little musical instrument. I hope that answers a few questions. I wish them luck. ê
