New Grumman G-44 Widgeon ARF electric seaplane from Electrifly/Great Planes!!

Well, here it is, 5-14-14 and I still haven't opened the Widgeon box. True.
I've been busy with CL. I'll do the Widgeon up for CL. Here's my most recent CL model. Just got finished painting it with Krylon aerosol cans. True again.

Well harumph. If you do end up with a GP Widgeon write this down: do a pre-flight.
I set mine in the water. Proudly taxied around showing the differential throttle to rudder mix for tight figure-or-eights when maneuvering in the water. Then lined it up and applied full throttle. After a LONG "roll out" I got airborne and, for the first time ever, the words "Don't got it!" came from my lips. She was nose up, not responsive, and I tail slid into a left wing slice into the water. Tore the left wing float off and pulled off the covering. The fuselage was sunk and on the bottom by the time I arrived in three feet of water.
Autopsy found the cause - THE DRAIN PLUG WAS OUT! I had taken on water wile puttering about showing off. When I pulled up the water ran to the tail and I had no control, tail heavy, stall, crash, blub, blub, blub.
The good news is that when I got home I set a heat gun on blower only and dried out the fuselage. After two days the receiver, servos, twin ESC and battery all seem OK. I set about to repair the damages.
Pride goeth before a stall (she's on the far left).
Aftermath
Opened up the panels
Drilled holes inside the attachment stubs and Gorilla glued bamboo pegs for added strength. The pegs go in about 3/8" and I sistered w/ Gorilla glue another piece of bamboo dowel along the wing rib where I had drilled down through it.
Monokote over the ribs and reattached the float
Backside of the float showing thickened epoxy and pegs.
The nacelle on that side was also shattered and I used masking tape on the outside and reinforced the inside with epoxy and 0.75 oz glass cloth.
All better. The APC 9x6 props seemed to be doing the job up until then. It has been a search to find props I like for this model.

Well, I'm looking for a good used Widgeon, stripped of everything but the model.
It's been some time, so there could be something available. Worth the try.
Anybody got one that you're no longer in love with.
Money or trade.
Please e-mail
