RE: Maxford floats any good?
They've been around for a while. Originally sold direct from China on Ebay.
All reports are that they work well, and are sturdy.
I have seen a couple of sets. They look nice-good profile, well finished. Actually quite attractive with a nicely sculpted bottom to give a lit of lift and little spray.
My only criticism is that a 32" (.40 size) set weighs 31 ounces. 2 pounds is enough to make a noticeable difference to a .40 size airplane.
I'll stick to my foam-cored floats like the ones from PlaneFun floats and Seaplane supply.

Thanks Jim. I also looked at the other suppliers you mentioned and they look very nice. I'm looking to put floats on my GP Cherokee which has a OS 55ax.

RE: Maxford floats any good?
Well, I went ahead and ordered a pair of 40 size floats from them Monday evening and received them today. Needless to say their shipping is very fast! They were packaged very well being double boxed and even UPS didn't destroy them! I am impressed with the fiberglass floats. There are no pinholes or flaws of any kind. I received all the hardware and nothing was omitted. These are going to fit my GP Cherokee arf perfectly. The instructions are a little amusing suggesting the author has limited english but are very easily translated. I give Maxford two big thumbs up for their shipping and floats I bought!!

Here's some pics of my Great Planes Cherokee ARF on the Maxford floats. Overall I'm very pleased with them. Now that I know it'll fly, I'll paint them to match the plane!
