I saw that just today, he has some pretty obscure designs, I have 2 or three of them including the Dornier 24.
If I ever do build it, I think I would model the restored version.
I get the idea that he did not build his own designs. The notes on the drawings are vague about engine size, equipment placement, etc. In fact I don't remember seeing any mention of hardware or radio placement. Also, he made a big deal about someone completing one of his designs, and he never shows pictures of any that he has built.
I'm wondering if ,along with donating the plans, the threatening rubber stamps were also donated.

Shelton Crusader
exchanged some correspondandce with Gene a few years back and bought the plan for the Shelton Crudader and had a kit cut for it. You're right he didn't. Build his plans so there is some work to do and some practical issues to address but the parts go together ok and build a structurally sound model. Obviously no moldings cowls etc so you'll need to be happy to do these yourself. I also want to try his 120 inch Grumman Widegeon. He has a lot of designs you won't find anywhere else though!
