I wish there would have been some replies to this thread. I recently built one of these planes again, after having one about 30 years ago. I have a Saito .40 on it. It sure is a fun kit to build (though it does require good building skills).
Now I am thinking of adding some DIY floats to it. Back in the day, I built and flew with a few DIY floats, and had a blast doing so.

I've been flying my 1/6 SIG Cub on wheels and built-up floats since 2004 with an OS FS-26. A great flying model!
