Default Sig Rascal 40 and Floats

Looking to build my first float plane, and was thinking about a sig rascal 40. Has anyone used this plane for floats, or maybe many? Just looking for suggestions from experienced folks.

Thanks

A couple of people here have, they used the lightweight fiberglass floats, worked really well. I don't know the brand even though I have a set up in the attic... had a real corny name like super flying floats...

The Rascal 40 would be a fantastic floatplane. Sig must have thought so, because the plane comes with a hardpoint with the blind nuts already installed for the rear float mounts. The 40 size GP float kit would work, or I think GP also has a prebuilt set made of fiberglass.

I have had two of the Rascal 40's but never put one on floats. I sold my last one 6 months ago, and never considered it for some reason. Now I'm wishing I had a second floatplane.

Sig will soon have floats for the Rascal 40. Tower already has the floats listed but they are not available at this time.

Wow, no diagonals between the front and rear mounts, first hard landing and they are ripped out the bottom...

Go to Sigs web site. They have the floats for the 40 Rascal. I think it was $79, and the 120 floats were $109. Hope this helps

The sig smooth floats have been "temporary unavailable" for about a year or so. I guess that its possible that sig could put them on the market soon, but I wouldn't count on it.

Waiting for the fiberglass floats for the Rascal 40 to come out. I have been flying one off of land for about two years now and I am itching to fly it off of water now. I have just been introduced to float flying with an ACE Seamaster ARF that ExperimentalAviator built and gave to me a few years back, and just now got around to it to maiden it 4 days ago with 3 more flights today.

I love the Rascal so I can't wait to see what its like off of water!
