amphibious floats

Hi RCU, I’m new.

So I have a small question on amphibious floats,
If I want amphibious floats, do I have to make the wheel retractable?
Or can I just leave it like in the picture?

If the wheel are not retratable, you will never able to take off and the aircraft will flip over on landing.
