Float Design

I'm looking for some "rule of thumb" design guidelines for designing seaplane floats. Basic information such as shape, location, size and other fundamental design parameters. Can anyone help or direct me to such information

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. I assume the CG of the float aligns vertically with the aircraft design CG as I intend to add the floats to a conventional (non-seaplane). I did not notice any advice regarding height of the supports, nor lateral spacing of the floats, however.

From centre to centre of the floats should be about 25% of the wingspan. Top of the floats should be 2-3 inches below prop tip. Works for me!! Good luck.

As the diagram shows, the step of the float shoud be on or within 1/2" to the rear of the C.G.
