I am thiinking of trying to fly off water and wqas looking on ebay when i noticed this ARF i know it is a cheap thing from china but i am wondering if anyone has tried this plane. It looks like it could be just the ticket. what do you guys think

Paul, the original ACE/Thundertiger ARF cost $200. plus around 8.00 for s/h from Hobbypeople, Ttowerhobbies and most Hobby stores on line. That ebay is a good price but I dont know how much of a difference the modified v hull will make. In boats, that I also have several rcs, the flatter the bottom the less drag and easier to get up on speed.The reviews on the stock form speak kindly of this model, easy to fly and good on water. I happen to have one of the regular ARFs but have not flown it yet. The wing looks like that may have been changed. Ask if its symmetrical, semi or flat bottom. I would bid on it myself, but I have a Seamonster to start and the Seamaster to finish. I see he has several.

Also, look at the negative feed backs. Over a thousand good and 32 or so negative. Of late, China has been attempting to enter the competition in the rc field. While the original models are also made in China and are sold locally from reputable dealers, dealing with over-sea dealers can be a problem. I have dealt with two of them so far, not this one, and had some minor difficulty, mainly a language problem, but eventually they came trough and made good on the deal.

Hi Paul,
I have a Seamaster with a OS 50 FX on it and it's a rocket, great way to get your "feet wet" with sea planes.
Go's together fast, the only thing I would recommend would be not to glue in the pylon that supports the engine pod, use two allen head wood screws so the assembly can be removed for any reason.
I have two wings for mine, one has a pair of T.T.36 engines on it so all I have to do is remove the "plain"wing and OS 50, cover the pylon hole with a piece of covering, mount the twin engine wing and I'm ready to go and the best part is, I can do this AT the lake in just a few minuets.
Even if you have to pay full price, the plane is worth it.

The Lanier Mariner 40 is a good plane too but stay away from their Sea Bird, it's junk!
The Sea Monster is my third choice.
As for float planes, Falcon Trading has three great planes and they have a mounting kit with floats that you can mount on any tri gear plane like a trainer.
