HOB Chea-Pass Float Plane

Been toying with the idea of building a small size water plane and the Chea-Pass comes to mind. Anyone have any thoughts on this plane, I know the Herr Aqua star has problems, can't seem to find much on this one. Have a .15 engine in the shop and would like to find a suitable seaplane for it. Any other kits in this size you might suggest ????? Thanks in advance.

Every review I have read about it was favorable. I am on record as postulating that if it did not have such a stupid name they would have sold a boatload of 'em.

Don't let the name fool you.

Do you know what the name mens??

yes I do and it does not imply quality either in design, construction, or flight qualities. And the name does not imply that it is a waterplane.

What would have been wrong with Pond Scooter 10? Merganser? Little Skimmer? Chea-Pass would have been choice# 1,086,419 only slighly ahead of the Skunk-stink or Herpes 34.

Well a big "duh" on my part, Jim Casey I now see what you are looking at, they were trying to disguise the word Cheap-ass. Yes it is a bit tacky, but it does fit me for I can be a cheapass.:D:D:D Now if we can get pass the name, anything I should look out for with this kit??? It is not the prettiest plane in the world, but it fits my requirments.

It is now listed as the Float Plane .10.

I would like to know if anyone has tried it with electric power.

Someone posted step-by-step assembly photos and it is all interlocking, self-jigging. Appears incredibly well designed.

I'm sure electric would be entirely practical with lipos and outrunner. Read the jillions of posts about keeping the ESC dry.
