Engine Tie Down
I have heard that it is best to attach your engine to something. Can someone please give me some info on this and some photos would be greatly appreciated if avalible. I have a 91fx that I would hate to lose.
Thanks Mark |
Engine Tie Down
Yes, someone just lost 2 OS 1.08's this week at a float fly. They are on the bottom somewhere!

Engine Tie Down
I used a small rope fixed to one float and the other end fixed to the engine. I used a landing gear strap (one with two hole) to make a tie point on the motor by just removing one of the back plate bolts and putting it on there. I tied to the floats because I figure what ever happens the float will still float.

Maybe a bit off the subject... But one thing I have done is use the Foam-in-a-can insulation spray in cavities in the fuse. Below the fuel tank behind the fire wall etc.. Adds a bit of weight but worth the insurance...You can then attach a cable to something in the foam..If she goes in its bound to float someway...
