Where can I find a Floatplane Pattern Ship?

1 Attachment(s)
I posted this in the pattern forum, but thought I would get a better response by posting here as well . . .

I spend 4 to 5 weeks each summer in Maine on a lake and would like nothing better than to fly a pattern ship on floats. I am considering modifying my Angel S 50e to fly on floats, but I'd love to buy an "off the shelf" pattern float plane and I know there are competitions in float pattern around the world.

Anybody know of a Floatplane Pattern Ship?

Any thoughts or insight on how to possibly modify my Angel?

Thanks to one and all!

Joe

The Japanese have little flat land from which to fly, but plenty of water. They fly seaplane pattern.http://www.smilesandwags.com/Floatsite/sea60_04.jpg
The SeaHunter 60 is one design. Rudder does double-duty.

Hey Jim, I love that plane and actually had found your post from '07 with the same picture, but when I search for SeaHunter, EZ-Fly, etc I can not find it. Do you have any idea where to buy one now?

Thanks a bunch.

EZ models were part of Tamiya. Now Tamiya lists no airplanes at all.

Jim and Himat tracked down a German offering and brought it up on RCG but I thought I would share it here as well :D

I ordered the [link=http://www.pichler.de/shop/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=858]Cavallino Splash[/link]

Can't wait to see how she comes out, but I think it will be exactly what I was looking for!

Credit where due: Himat discovered it. I just followed his lead.

the above is a review on the stingray splash ( maybe it is the cavilino's big brother ?) sold by slough radio control in the uk. I have had my eye on this one for a long time now, but consider the cost to be silly. maybe you could find one in the US at a sensible price ?
