Hello Maverick,

You will enjoy building float planes very much.

I built my first one 15 years ago and and have done it ever since. Besides they're much more fun and easier to fly off the water,

See the previous message to 2d.

Good luck,

HughO

thanks hugo...ive never flown of water and always thought cubs looked good on floats. im going to do the floats with panel lines and rivets to scale them up a little bit. im aslo going to ad the cross bracing for the float wires to stiffen them up a bit and make them look a little better. just put them on for the photo to show pics.

thansk again guys...mike

Well your a builder now...
I guess you'll have to venture into an aircraft kit next! You wont regret it.. Also make it a floatplane, you won't regret that either..

Congrats on building the floats. I use 1/2 oz. fiberglass with Polycrylic water base. Easy to clean up and flows on smooth. I take a old credit card and scrape off the excess. It is also not as heavy as epoxy. Just a though

hey guys...thanks. last night i used sig cloth with zap z-poxy finish resin. i do the same aply the resin then pull of the exces with a card let cure then sand the edges with 220. now i need to finish the bottom with a 1/4 coverlap. i will psot some more pics when the glassing is finished. the only all wood plane i have ever built is a roayl b-17. ive been building it from plans and a short lazer cut kit for the last year and itas about done.

thanks again guys....mike
