I might be late weighing in but I upgraded my Rustler with the Castle creations ESC and 3800 KV motor combo from eBay for around $100
I freakin love it!!!!
also put the same combo in my sons Slash...

Brushless ESC

I bought the Castle Creations Brushless SCTset up for my sons Slash
all I can say is WOW!!! that thing is like night and day from the brushed motor!
but while cleaning his truck I got the ESC wet...

Rustler keeps throwing brushes

I have just thrown a brush in my 3 rd motor!
I have broke them all in and don't understand what is causing it

brushless is looking pretty good to me I am looking at the castle creation 5700kv...
