Maybe the problem with the ARF's covering is that the wood is still full of moisture from Vietnam. It is super low humidity here (like 15%) and the black covering absorbs more heat than the white. ...

I did a ton of flying the pattern and touch and goes back in the 1970s. Difference was, then I was sitting inside a Cessna 150. If I recall correctly, that was way easier than this.
