I think? I have mounted the wings to the saddle pretty good and as you can see the retracts work very well so far.

I've lost a wing on one of my foamies to LG failure, but I add extra support to the ribs for my stick build to help keep that from happening

Have installed the retracts, but like you said I had to cut about 60% of the wing rib (5) to get them in. Even with electrics it still takes a good bit of room to get it right.
