RE: Esc cutting out..

I thought that would be the case.. however when feeling the motor after it cuts out it isn't even warm. Maybe slightly warmer than the rest of the buggy, but not a big difference - nowhere close to...

RE: Esc cutting out..

I looked at the manual, and I was expecting it to be one of those.. however it is not. Blue and yellow lights were blinking!? I checked multiple times because I thought my eyes were deceiving me..

RE: Esc cutting out..

That's what I was thinking... would it be a good idea to warm the battery up beforehand? or insulate it in the buggy?

Cold + Lipo = ?

I've been breaking in my new B44 outside in the cold.. between 10 and 25 degrees, and it has a problem of cutting out very frequently.

I am running a Havoc 8.5 with a 21 tooth pinion/84 tooth...

Esc cutting out..

I've been breaking in my new B44 outside in the cold.. between 10 and 25 degrees, and it has a problem of cutting out very frequently. At first I thought maybe it was because of a poor quality lipo...

RE: Easy lipo question for you guys

Not necessarily.. Any 2s lipo should charge to 8.4 volts regardless of the condition of the pack. What may happen over time is the cells going out of balance of each other - so at a full charge one...

RE: Easy lipo question for you guys

Absolutely False.

Modern Lipo chargers use a method called "Cc/Cv", meaning they first start out at a constant current (amps) which is usually directly related to the capacity of the battery.....

RE: Super Glue??

Super Glue works well, if administered correctly. If the crack is jagged, but the pieces fit together perfectly, you should be able to glue it to get some reasonable time out of it.. I superglued my...

RE: Exploding Lipos

Ok well that's good to hear. I somehow thought that taking too much power could possibly make a lipo explode. Well it is going in a race buggy, but the track is fairly small, and I am inexperienced....

Exploding Lipos

I have recently purchased a xxx-4 roller and now am in the market for something to power it. So far the Havoc Sport 8.5 sounds appealing, and I love the great price ($140 dollars). As for the...

Brushless setup for XXX-4?

I'm trying to figure out what esc/motor I should put into my soon-to-be purchased xxx-4. I am very budget minded, and was originally planning on getting a new B4 for around 210, so I am trying to get...

RE: Mini-lst ideas/comments

Do you have the Exotek wing mount too? Cuz my body posts are as low as they can go any the wing is well below the top of the cab...

What are you talking about? A different body?

RE: Mini-lst ideas/comments

OK I mounted the body lower.

Here are new pics.

It still seems like I should cut off the spoiler lip, or get a new body - though.

[/quote]

that "spoiler thing" is only about a 1/4 of an inch high, no body change is really going to affect anything
and you have the body mounted at least 1/2 an inch too high

lazy?...

RE: Mini-lst ideas/comments

The back of the body has the stupid spoiler thing which basically blocks the wing. I want a new body.. that was the question.

Ok about the esc, seriously, if you want the truth - I really am...

RE: Mini-lst ideas/comments

Well it's really not all that big of a hole.. and my rx isn't all that small. The rx is the same size as the esc/same size as the stock esc/stock rx. I have the on/off switch there too. I could...

RE: Mini-lst ideas/comments

Well I kinda have to have it that high to leave SOME room for the esc's heatsink.. I've tried putting the rx in other positions but there isn't really anywhere else it will fit.

Mini-lst ideas/comments

I recently upgraded a few things.. and I mostly like the look of it.. without the body it is sexy imo. Everything seems fine except,

The body MUST go. It is broken in many spots, gets in the way...

RE: who has the novak mongoose

Well the thing is that 9000kv on 3-cell lipo would have to be geared low and the esc would probably need a fan (no biggie tho) to keep it at a decent operating temperature. The Ammo/neu/permax could...

RE: who has the novak mongoose

Well that's not quite true because my Mongoose has 7300k/v compared to your 5100. For the same voltage and gearing my motor 'should' have a higher top speed. Is there anything I'm missing there? I...

RE: who has the novak mongoose

Well don't get too sure of yourself HPI. There will always be people that can make use of the extra power.

In my opinion, a more powerful brushless system would be a waste on most 1/18th scale...

RE: just got a mini t and lst

The reedy modified should definitely be the fastest.. if it is still in good condition.

I would recommend you use the fireball first, tho. Fireball motors are cheap and have some speed - but not...

RE: Upgrade mini LST

That COULD work.. if set up correctly (with aftermarket shims/o-rings) the viscous diff will work OK.

However - the Mini-lst 2 diffs are nearly fool proof. Those are what you should really get....
