RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

Why do you say that? Wouldn't a better performer be more fun to drive? (I ask because I don't know.)

RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

I'm especially partial to HPItheir designs seem to be modern and well-engineered. Now I just need to find $200 somewhere. + the cost of everything else

RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

Ignoring price, how does the Tamiya compare to the HPI?

RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

The HPI M-Chassis is 4WD. Do you guys have any favorites? Between HPI, Tamiya, and...whoever else makes them?

RE: What is an M-Chassis for?

So they exist in the same scale as the 1/10 cars, but are there to provide more realistic scale to the smaller vehicles of yesterday? What about scale model detail and accuracy? The 1/10 scale...

What is an M-Chassis for?

I have been out of the hobby for years, and I don't remember the M-Chassis. I just want to know what it is for? I assume "M" stands for mini, but is there a reason for the smaller chassis other...

RE: rally cars

Can you tell us what kind of car that is? The inner body doesn't look like anything I have ever seenI have an HPI RS4 Rally, and the inner body has these lame molded drivers. I want to replace it...

RE: Best way to change tires?

Can't you just cut the old tires off the wheels? Considering how many wheels are cheaper than the tires, I don't see why you wouldn't just replace both at the same time.

RE: Will These Brushes Work?

It should be fine, you just need to break the brushes in.

RE: looking for a durable shaft driven car

"Dig another well" Haha, ok. I just want to try something different and less noisy. The noise is the main factor motivating me to make the change.

What do you mean by "convert nitro engines...

RE: good electric car

A buggy would be better for jumping, but not nearly as fun, in my opinion. Get an HPI Rally and try to jump that sucker. I have one and it's so much fun because it's so versatile and durable. I've...

RE: looking for a durable shaft driven car

Why can't they simply make a more powerful 4-stroke? Is it not possible? I'm just not terribly excited about dealing with the disadvantages of 2 stroke engines.

RE: looking for a durable shaft driven car

Specs on the 4-stroke in question:
Practical RPM Range: 2000-22,000
Power Output: 0.5 hp @ 17,000 RPM

Is that so bad in comparison to 2 strokes, considering the increase in torque?

RE: looking for a durable shaft driven car

The NTC3 kind of looks flimsy to me. I would really like a Kyosho FW-05RR, but I have a feeling I would have a hard time finding parts for it in the US. Is this engine going to be really hard on...

looking for a durable shaft driven car

I'm planning on building a versatile touring car with a shaft drive, and customized with a 4-stroke engine. (see below link)

RE: Best nitro car

Why does the NTC3 break more easily than other cars? Is it due to cheap parts (which can be upgraded with aftermarket hopups?) or just poor design? Can the NTC3 be made to be just as durable as the...

RE: Ofna Hyper One Seven, New On Roader

Why can't they put all that neat stuff (mainly the transmission and rear exhaust) in a 1/10 scale car? Is that too much to ask?

RE: How quiet can you make a nitro engine?

If a 4 stroke engine is more likely to damage the drivetrain...what kind of damage are we talking about? Would a shaft drive be the best and most durable option in this case? Can I simply upgrade...

RE: How quiet can you make a nitro engine?

I will definitely go with the 4-stroke engine. I like to be a trend setter. It may not be legal for racing, but I can always swap the stock engine back in.

RE: How quiet can you make a nitro engine?

From what I have read, it looks like the 4-stroke engine is really the way to go. My question is why don't more RC cars use 4 stroke engines? It seems to be an obvious choice.

And of course the 12 cells will make it even heavier. I'm not seriously planning to do such a conversion, I was just curious if it's been done, or even remotely practical. I found a 4 stroke...

RE: How quiet can you make a nitro engine?

Excellent, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks! I'm assuming you would end up sacrificing high top speed for the extra torque, right? I guess I don't mind, so long as I'm able to peel out.

RE: How quiet can you make a nitro engine?

How would you manage to put 2 pipes on one car? Would there even be enough room? How would you connect them together? Has anyone tried this before?
