RE: SHOW UR BOATS PEOPLE

That Joker is sweet! I love a boat that is a little different from the crowd. I'll bet that thing looks awesome cruising around the pond! Did you build that yourself? I really like it.

RE: UPGRADING NIKKO TIGER

If you are using the stock nikko pack, that might be your problem, too. Those aa batteries just can't supply the amps to run the 540 motor under load. Try using the sub c pack to see if that makes...

RE: CEN AquaJet

That would be the, uh, 775. It came stock in the boat. Bigger than a 550, and needs at least 10 cells to run good.

RE: CEN AquaJet

Just stuck it there because the motor leads were so short. Since it has it's own cooling, I didn't even consider whether the motor cooling would affect it. It never got hot anyway.

CEN AquaJet

Thought I'd throw up some pics of the coolest boat I own. This thing is a 775 powered on 12 cells with flex shaft, carbon prop, and lots of cooling. Max speed recorded by GPS so far is 19.8 mph. ...

RE: Micro Boat

Not saying that brushless won't work in a boat, just not as simple as throwing any motor in there. A rigger might be more receptive to a high-kv motor than a v-hull, but 8000kv is just too much for...

RE: Micro Boat

I thought about the gear reduction route for my brushless. Here are my experiences: The lower priced reduction units are offset, so they don't fit (had some, tried them, they don't fit). Got a...

RE: Wanting to get into micro boating

For small, fast, and roostertail, check out the Gecko from MHZ. Just about right for the mamba, though 8000kv might be a bit much for any boat. 4800kv had mine skipping across the pond.

RE: brushless reef racer

I put a park 400 brushless in mine last summer. It was definitely overkill. The boat handled just fine, no skittishness and no flips, and it sure was quick. Problem is, that hull will only go so...

RE: Aquacraft EP Hammer Thread

We just missed each other by a day, then. Decker lake is nasty, you should try swimming in it, tastes like a dog soaked in deisel [:'(]. I've seen the new park, but I fear upsetting the fishermen...

RE: Aquacraft EP Hammer Thread

Hey Bash_N_Thrash, I live in the SL valley and just wondering where you run your boats. The only place I know of is Decker lake, and I haven't seen any hammers there, just nitros. I'd like to run...

RE: Leo-X Mini Monster/Venom Mini Giant motor

I stretched the drive shafts by cutting them in half, then epoxying them into an appropriately long piece of alum. tubing sized to fit them snugly. I have had no problems with them twisting out of...

RE: Leo-X Mini Monster/Venom Mini Giant motor

The stock motor is a 7.2v 280. I have tried a 6v 280, graupner 280bb, and a 6v 370 (fireball spec). My fav for crawling was the stock motor with a 9t pinion till I stretched the wheelbase, now I...
