Servo power

I don't know how the current draw on these servos is vs a regular electric motor but typically the power is proportional to the voltage times the current, i.e. for a given power a higher supply...

counterbalance weight

The amount of weight is proportional to the distance from the CG. If you remove 2 oz from the tail at 40 inches from the CG you would have to remove 2*40/10=8 oz if the removal location was 10 inches...

Differential aileron mixin

I recently read that on some aircraft up deflection results in different drag that down deflection. That's why you get yaw with equal throws.

Ailerons on AW 29% Edge

Trying to decide whether to use the small or large aileron option on my in progress Edge. I'm not a 3D pilot, trying to perfect 4 pt. rolls and other basic manuevers on smaller planes. What's the...

Kyosho giles 202

I put the 2 elevator and the rudder servos in the stock tray and ran graphite golden rods to each elevator half. It was kind of a pain to get inside the fuse and support the golden rods at each...

Kyosho giles cg

I used 2 standard servos for elevator and a Hitec 645 for pull-pull rudder all mounted in the standard tray. Put the throttle servo just ahead. With a Saito 90 and the battery in front of the...

Modified retracts

After constantly straightening the 5/32 wire gear on my WM Rambler I decided to modify them. Drilled out the holes and installed some hard 3/16 wire and a set of small universal Robostruts with the...

Rambler with inverted engine

If you loop the fuel supply line up a little higher than the top of the fuel tank prior to going to the engine it will not siphon.

Ramber 45

Mine has an OS 50 SX with an APC 11x7. Weights 4# 10 oz on the digital fish scale, won't quite pull vertical. I think it will with an 11x6 or 12x5.

Pitts muffler

I've got a couple of engines with Pitts mufflers, including a .61 FX.
Haven't done any comparisons but I remember seeing somewhere that there should be a slight increase in performance over the...

Effectiveness of Perry pump

I'd like to locate the fuel tank on a Venture 60/Saito .91 close to the CG, 10 inches or so from the engine. Will a Perry pump pull the fuel up that distance without pressurizing the tank? Any...

Best .46 ARF

I'd vote for the WM Rambler 45. Quality, light weight, looks, and flight performance are all top notch. Only problem I've had is with the gear (retrofit the 5/32 wire with 3/16) and difficulty...

Rambler 45 throttle servo location

I mounted the throttle servo/receiver mount farther back in the plane than the plans indicated. This allows the tank to be easily removed. Also fit in Hobbico retracts tilted slightly forward, easy...

Saito idle

I had the same problem until the motor was well broken in. With mixtures adjusted, etc. it will settle down to a very nice idle.

Loose muffler on Saito 91

I have around 25 flights on a Midwest Citabria with Saito 91. I just used copper NeverSeze on the muffler connection and it has never come loose. Are you sure your propeller is well balanced?
