Let's see if there's anybody out there who can help me.
I have one of the newer Saito FG-20 engines (gasoline four-stroke w/ignition) which I'm installing inverted in a quarter-scale J-3 Cub. ...

Purchased a new FG-20 a couple of years ago from Horizon. Installing it inverted in a model of a homebuilt which uses a "Cub-like" cowl. Problem is physical interference of the engine's front...

RE: GAS Saito

Late thread joiner here, so apologies in advance if this has already been covered. Bought an FG-20 earlier this year to use in a Cub. Found that mounting inverted causes interference of the...

Thinking about buying a new Saito 72 AAC to replace engine in an existing model. Can anyone tell me what the crankcase width is just below the mounting "ears"? Using Sig G/F mounts. Want to make...

Laser cutter recommendation

Can anyone out there recommend a laser cutting service for a one-off project? Need to have a set of ribs for a biplane laser cut. Just too many to cut by hand. I used Laser Arts several years ago,...

RE: balsa usa phaeton 90

I have a NIB P90 kit w/some aftermarket accessories (FG cowl, Sig ABS pants, TNT alum gear) that I'm looking to sell if anyone's interested. I've moved on (back?) to old timers and gliders. Let me...

RE: 48-60" Tiger Moth kit advice

Tom,
I've been looking for a TM kit also and was curious about your impression of the D&L kit...I had been thinking about the Dennis Bryant design/laser cut package from Bob Holman.

RE: I love my Aeromasters!

Chevelle,
I also have Giant and original Aeromasters. I built the original one (an "Aeromaster Too") back in the early 80s from an AAMCO kit and still fly it periodically (it's so old, I hate...

RE: What happen to Falcon Trading Co?

Wheel pants would definitely look good.

To repeat what has already been said many times, it's really too bad this one bit the dust. Too many 3D Edge/Extra/CAP/Yak lookalikes out there competing...

RE: What happen to Falcon Trading Co?

The one other mod I made that I forgot to mention was to replace the typical ARF (i.e., small) wheels with 3-1/2" Sullivan aluminum hub wheels. A bit of an extravagance, but they sure look good.

RE: What happen to Falcon Trading Co?

This is how I converted my Aerobat to a bolt-on wing configuration. There are probably easier ways to do and this approach may be overkill for a 40 size model, but it has worked fine for me on the...

RE: What happen to Falcon Trading Co?

See my post on the similar thread started by "rewired". You may still be able to get one if you act quickly. Good luck. Have to agree with Red...the Aerobat was a case of "the best kept secret"....

Thanks for posting this info. We lived in the UK for three years back in the 80s and I remember this line of kits ("Complete-A-Pac"). I would never have remembered that they offered a...

RE: Can a newbie build a four star 120?

Chris,
One of the guys I fly with occasionally has a 4*60 but haven't seen it side by side with the 120. The 120 is only 10" longer span so it's not that much bigger. Either one would be a great...

RE: Can a newbie build a four star 120?

OK, here are two pix of my Four Star 120. That's a pre-Surpass OS 120 on the nose, not a Saito! Flies it fine for my (senior) style. Covered in MonoKote. Just added the wheel pants last week and...

RE: Can a newbie build a four star 120?

Chris,

I also think the 4*120 is a kit you'd have no trouble building and I could not recommend it more highly. I finished mine earlier this year and have been flying it for the past few...
