RE: It flys!!!

Thanks for your comment. I have yet to reach this planes expiration date, and takes lots of abuse, mostly pulling a few g's in what I give it. I did also make a new wing, I got tired of the...

RE: Tiger start???

Please, it is not worth it. I have the same engine, and I could never keep the tigerdrive from slipping. I would clean everything off, and oil it. It would work one or two starts, then it would...

RE: How to make the gp rv-4 a little better

Heres the wing all finished. I did get one good flight out of it, and it is great. The throws looked very tame, but I was able to do quite quick rolls, nothing the original wing could of ever done....

RE: How to make the gp rv-4 a little better

After many hours, I got the wing finished, except for installing the servo and aileron linkage, and covering it, which I will do today. I think it turned out great, and weighs 1/2 to 3/4 of an ounce...

How to make the gp rv-4 a little better

Hello, I recieved my gp rv-4 for christmas, and built it over the winter. I have now put on dozens of flights, and is now my favorite plane to fly. The only problem is, the wing. It holds up well,...

RE: what does a gearbox do

The gearbox allows the use of a larger prop, usually for slow flyers. You are right, it does slow the prop down, but you can get more thrust out of it. So for direct drive, you would use small...

It flys!!!

A while ago I started a build thread for my gp rv-4 parkflyer kit. Unfortunatly, I couldn't keep up with that, and school at the same time. But, I did get the plane finished. For those that wanted...

RE: Lithium battery disposal - first one

I belive you don't cut the batteries, but simply discharge them to the lowest safest voltage(2.75-2.8 volts per cell) then put them in the salt water. The salt water will take the voltage down to 0...

RE: Looking for a nice balsa kit. Suggestions needed.

This was my third plane, and my second kit. It was very easy to put together, and looks great. Called the Great planes rv-4 park flyer. Good size for a 400 size brushed/brushless power, weighs 22...

RE: steering servo???

What I would suggest is the Futaba S3050 Servo Digital Standard High Torque BB MG. It has all that you need in a steering servo. ball bearings, metal gears, and is high torque, alittle over twice...

RE: RC10GT engine

With the steel spur gear and an 18 tooth clutch bell, I'm around 40-45 mph I'm guessing. But, I can reach those speeds in about a 3/4 of a city block. A 20 tooth clutch bell would be the most I...

I have the 18 cvr, and it is more than enough power, I upgraded from a .12, and it made the truck a lot more fun. The upgrades to make it take it is all metal tranny gears, including metal spur...

RE: well im about to throw my traxcrap nitro sport the the trash

That had happened to my os .18 cvr. No matter how hard I tried, I could only sometimes get the fuel to get trough the line, and when I try to start it, it quickly runs back into the fuel tank. I...

RE: Great Planes Lipos

RE: Lipolymer

Mix up some salt water(TBSP. per 1 cup) and put the lipo in it. It will take out the charge in the battery slowly, and after a week or so, you can throw it away. What you should do first though, is...

RE: MT2 jolting

It sounds like your clutch is still engaged at low rpm. Check if a clutch bell bearing went out, or if a spring broke from the clutch pads, something is wrong in the clutch region. Joe.

RE: Great Planes Tutor Build Thread!

It can definatly fly with the 300 size. The gearbox should be just right for it too. What you may want to do though is experiment with different props(11X4.7, 10X8, 10X4.7) to find the best one. ...
