.....As second choice, I applied layers of medium viscosity CA to the bottom of the ports. That looks as though it might work, but it might come off in all that fuel and oil and heat and vibration....

The HD crank you have might give a bit better performance at particular RPM levels due to better internal balancing, but the main difference will be in the longevity of the engine's running...

Bob, look inside (remove backplate) and see if it has the very rare special bullet-proof crankshaft made by Cox especially for the Lite Machines Helicopters, this just before Lite Machines switched...
