RE: Hummingbird 3D Pro Gyro Mount

Yeah, the Elite 3D Pro is still sitting on the bench since May. Century now offer metal tail grips but I can't be bothered spending another cent on this thing. Meanwhile I've been flying my Trex...

RE: Another Li-po battery caught on fire

I've always heard to charge at 1C. I charge my 2100 at 2 amps... no problems. Actually that's not quite true.... one guy in our club says he studied Li-Po's as an engineer for awhile and you can...

RE: Hummingbird 3D Pro Gyro Mount

I've had a lot of problems with the tail drive on mine and Century are sending me an updated version soon, apparently. Almost everyone's had problems.

So not much flying time... probably about...

RE: New to helis

I agree. I bought a Century Hummingbird 3D Pro and have had a lot of problems. The parts have a heavy mark up too (around 160%).

The Trex has a very marginal mark up (about 31%). And I'd say...

RE: can't land off my helicopter

STEP AWAY FROM THE HELICOPTER.... SLOWLY..
8^)

Seriously, you really need to do a lot of reading and simulator practice before powering it up.

Good Luck!

RE: Megatech Housefly Question

I have had 2 of the Dragonflies (both have dead electronics now but I did a lot of flying on both). I'm pretty sure what's been said in this thread is true although I've never seen a Housefly.

RE: Trex 450XL CCPM ???

One of my friends modified his Trex to ccpm and said it's amazing how much more responsive it is! You can get carbon fibre ccpm frames from:

In fact I've...

RE: New Idea! I'm Tired of Broken Skids!!!

Hey that's a great idea. I'm getting ready to build a springy CF landing gear for mine with a wider stance to help with cock-eyed landings (I'm a newbie).

All I get from my friends when I say...

RE: bashing century

No, I think Syclic is right. I had the same problem on my Century Hummingbird Elite 3D Pro and discovered I had the servo mounted upside down. If you look closely at that picture, you can see the...

I had the same problem and I also determind hat some random, uncontrolable spinning was caused by the broken tail boom vibrating and confusing the gyro.

I replaced mine by cutting off all of the...

RE: Hummingbird 3D Pro Gyro Mount

I had the same question for my 3D Pro. Century said (effectively) "wherever you want".

Others said keep it away from the ESC. So I put the radio and ESC up front and the gyro underneath and...

RE: How does a brushless motor work?

I think I'll jump in here. I've been trying to discover how a brushless motor can turn at any speed other than the speed that the ESC is "telling it" to. My helicopter can't keep up the same rpm...

RE: Optic 6 & Gy401 gyro settings?

RE: And the Heli went......SMASH!

But at least if they're made entirely out of balsa they'd probably do little damage to anything (except an eye) even at high speed.

You wouldn't want to try an autogyro landing with pure balsa...
