First quad build, please help me select parts that won't end up as a fireball

I've been around R/C for a while but this is my first time venturing off the surface and into the air. My goal is to build a nice little quadcopter that can eventually fly around with my GoPro....

TC3 bad turning ratio at high speeds

My TC3 doesn't steer as well as I wish it would at moderate-high speeds.

When I'm idling along at low speed I can turn the car around in a few feet. When I'm on the throttle, even half...

Downsizing to a revo?

I've long been an RC hobbyist, and owned a fair share of off and on road vehicles both electric and gas over the years. My latest truck was a Team Losi LST and sadly I've had nothing but problems...

RE: first runaway

I take it a full-on braking didn't help much? I think that's a bit of a fault with these trucks, on a car the brakes are always strong enough to overcome the strength of the engine and at least slow...

RE: #743 down for the count

That's cool that you have the cash to hire someone to fix it for you but remember this is a hobby not just a toy. You may wanna think about trying it yourself, and if you run out of patience or get...

RE: Video: Engine Troubles

Thanks for the tips.

I'm going to buy a quart of anything else my hobby shop caries to test. I understand I should follow break in procedure with the new fuel and get fuel with the same nitro...

RE: Video: Engine Troubles

With a lot of work I got it to stay running. The tuning was off but not by much and it just took an hour of turning 1/16th at a time till it would stay running. Still not much power, and no...

RE: Which video editing tool software you use ?

Ah, I must vouch for Vegas 5 as well since it is so overlooked in the world of consumer video editing. For its price, features and quality it is definitely a major player.

RE: serial #

What size screws are these and is the a direct screw on this truck someplace that would fit? I'd like to order some from Horizon.

RE: LST going loopy!

Any metal-on-metal contact can cause glitching. It's a common and well known about issue that exists on all RC vehicles. The glitching experienced on this truck is at its worst when you are running...

RE: Diff Replacement...Skill Level?

Ah, I had to double check by testing on my truck this afternoon and I simply pull a kingpin for one of the A-arms allowing you plenty of room to pull the diff out. I find it easier to remove and...

RE: Problems with the mach

Send it to Horizon. They'll look at it, attribute the issue as normal for the engine and send it back a few weeks later. Then go drop in something else, I've had it with the mach and it's too bad...

RE: serial #

I would take the time to remove the backplate from the engine and look inside rather than just going by the manufacturing number. It's not worth the 10 minutes of hassle it takes to check inside.

RE: Need help from the video posting experts

SDCrashmaster, try Discreet Cleaner 6. Available right for your macintosh and will do just that task, among a few hundred others of course.

RE: Need Opinions - PCI or USB Capture?

I advise against both, unless you are looking at a high end PCI board such as a Matrox RT, etc.

Your best bet is to go along the firewire route. This means getting an external device that...

RE: Which video editing tool software you use ?

I use Apple Final Cut Pro for all my editing on my mac, and where I can't use FCP (on a PC) I use Avid Express Pro.

Now, would I recommend these programs to use? Na prolly not unless you're...

RE: Everything messed up on LST

I took my LST up into the mountains of California a while ago and noticed a few things about this truck. For one thing, tuning is super critical to a properly running truck. I already knew it was...

RE: Anyone breaking CVDs?

Yay, I get to spend an extra $72 to get a truck that performs as it should stock. I love being an early adopter. :|

RE: KILLER HOBBIES

I just wish they carried a larger variety of parts or I'd cancel my order with Horizon right now.

RE: Subaru WRX body on TC3: body posts too short!

To those having flooding issues after shutting the engine off; always remember to bring a spring type paper clasp with you to clamp off the fuel line before shutting off the engine....
