RE: Official Joe Nall 2011 thread?

It's an oldtimer model, not the bomber.

RE: Heads Up! Alpha 40 ARF Wing Flaw

Finally found part of my wife's plane. The left wing was the only thing that made it through the trees to the ground. Could not see any trace of the rest of the plane. Either hunters found it or the...

RE: Heads Up! Alpha 40 ARF Wing Flaw

My wife was practicing split S's with her new Alpha 40 and the wing folded. It failed on the 4th split S. She was at 3/4 throttle when it happened. The elevator travel was slightly higher then the...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Sometimes it's the challenge that is the reward. I've seen plenty of gas engine installations that work fine after the initial installation. I have also seen plenty of people struggling with 2 stroke...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

For me the choice was about sound. I love the sound of a four stroke.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

I measured the distance from the firewall to the front of my installed cowl and it's 145mm.

That would leave about 15mm between the back of the prop hub and the front of the cowl.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Will the rear carb DLE 30 fit within the cowl? Using the measurements from the engines manual the length is a good bit longer then the distance from the firewall to the front of the cowl. I'd...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

I joined the Hangar 9 Taylorcraft club this week. Maidened it Saturday. Powered with a new Saito 150 mounted inverted. Weight without fuel or the pilot figure is 14LBs exactly. To balance it at the...

RE: CMP C-160 Transall Electric Conversion

Maidened my CMP C-160 Transall today. Flew very well. I bought the plane in 2006 on eBay for under $130 and was sitting on it until last month. I've read all the threads on this plane and thought I...

RE: H9 cub with o.s. 52 fs???

Just maidened my H9 Cub today with a Magnum 52 FS. Flew great. A little too fast for scale appearance at full throttle, but at 1/2 throttle or below it looked really nice. Plenty of power for short...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I had a space problem below my 55ax. I just used a dremel drum sanding bit and ground out enough material to allow the engine to fit, then sealed the trimmed area with CA. Worked fine.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

To date may MLG have held up fine. I drilled a 1/4" hole in front of and behind the MLG mount blocks and poured in 5 min epoxy. I patched the holes with monokote. Worst case scenario you can put a...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

The tank is pretty close to being right on the CG at the stock location. Like I said, I happened to notice a very slight trim change near the end of the tank. Nothing major and at most it would need...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I wouldn't move the tank. Moving the tank forward will make the plane more nose heavy with a full tank and better balanced with an empty one. It's a very minor trim change in mine and most of the...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

The fuel tank is over the CG at 10". If you balance it at 10" there is a slight change in trim between full tank and nearly empty.
