RE: Chargers for NiMH batteries

Thanks a bunch! I can't remember the rating on the charger, but I'm positive it's well over 100. The note on the battery says to charge for 16-20 hours at 150mA, so I think I'm OK. Thanks again!! ...

Chargers for NiMH batteries

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but here goes. I've been using a Futaba 6YG-FM radio system for the last five years, or so. I decided to replace the NiCad Rx battery in one of my...

RE: 3rd plane; 1st kit; Suggestions?

The 4*40 and the Mid-Star 40 are great airplanes, and by the way, welcome to the world of kit building. Once you get the hang of it, you may not want to go back to ARF's. One caveat; when you build...

RE: Good Engines ,Bad engines???+

I agree with you; stay away from the TH46. I have one that has a new carb and NVA, has been broken in by the book, has been fiddled with by some good engine gurus, and it still won't run right. ...

RE: Does anyone know any sites where i can find line control planes?

Also, try www.virginiahobbysport.com. You can see what they've got on their site, but you have to order by phone at 866-359-8266. Glen

RE: vintage nobler kit in green box

RSM sells laser cut rib sets for the Nobler that have the holes for jigging the wing. I'm not sure what other parts they sell, like fuselage formers, etc. Someone else might know. Glen

RE: radios and servos and kadets .. oh my...

Bob, when I started RC about five years ago, I built a Kadet LT40, and ordered the Futaba 6 channel basic set, with 4 S3004 servos, the standard battery pack, and standard receiver. It cost about...

RE: Super Tigres Made in China

One of the posts that mentioned Tower along with Super Tigre reminded me...........I have a GS 40, but have never liked that cumbersome, and heavy, exhaust set up. I took the muffler from my Tower...

RE: SuperTiger

Great engines. Caveats: Make sure ALL screws are tight, especially the carb barrel guide screw. If it backs out, even a little, it will score the barrel and cause it to stick. I know; been there,...

RE: ATF/Afterrun OIL/Can IT Help Memove Carbon Buildup?

Marvel Mystery Oil is a marvelous upper cylinder lubricant, and would probably keep the model engine lubricated when mixed with methanol. The concern would be in how well it dissipates heat, and...

RE: ST 40, muffler and prop are stuck

I've got a Tower 46 muffler on my G51. It seemed to fit well, so I used it, so I didn't have to use that stupid ST header. Glen

RE: OS .46 LA (Bad Engine?)

The LA's are good engines for the money, and will last a long time, if you take care of them, run them a hair on the rich side, and run fuel with some castor in it. I run Powermaster 10/22 with...

RE: Super Tiger 51/ Powerful

I've got a G51 that, after bench break-in, I put in an old Hobbico Superstar 60. This plane has been repaired, and is HEAVY. The 51 pulls it with authority, and I'm only using a Pro Zinger 11/4...

RE: Brodak cardinal arf engine mounting nuts pulling loose

I may be showing my rear end here. I assumed you are talking about the threaded inserts. If that's true, I'm OK; if not, never mind. Glen

RE: R S M S1 Ringmaster kit.

His web site is at www.virginiahobbysport.com. It's a nice site where you can look at the items he sells and get prices. There is also, I think, a contact link that has his email address. Give him...

RE: Brodak cardinal arf engine mounting nuts pulling loose

Do they come already installed? If so, and you can back them out, reinstall them with 30 minute epoxy on the threads. If not, still use epoxy. They should stay in. Glen

Try Henry Werner at Virginia Hobbysport (866)359-8266. He handles RSM, and probably has some in stock. Glen

RE: G-51 recommended prop for trainer.

The engine isn't completely broken in, yet, so I run it rich, and haven't made any adjustments to the low speed needle. I have to be careful with throttle-up, but it is doing better. The transition...

RE: G-51 recommended prop for trainer.

I just put a G 51 on my Hobbico Superstar 60 using a Pro Zinger 11/4. This combination pulls the plane with authority; in fact, I fly it a lot at half throttle. Glen

RE: Dolphin 40 landing gear

You might check with Sig. Their Four-Star 40, Mid-Star 40, and others have aluminum landing gears. The Dolphin 40 looks to me like a clone of the Four-Star 40, so I would think the landing gear...

RE: A couple of control line questions

My suggestion would be to get a couple of Brodak trainers and build the first with your kids' help. Then let them build the second one with your help. Bite the bullet and get a good .049 like the...

RE: Stooge!

Order the Tru-Launch stooge from Brodak or Virginia Hobbysport. Attach it securely to the end of a 2' x 4' piece of 3/8" plywood. That way the plane will sit on the plywood base and cannot move...

Converting G51 RC to CL

I ordered a ST G51 RC from Tower "Scratch & Dent", and got it yesterday. It was missing the manifold, which I had, so it's good to go. Saved $24. Initially, I'm going to use it for RC, but might...
