RE: Hobbico Superstar EP convert to gas ?

fw190pilot - upload pictures NOT from "Fast Reply", but using "Post Reply" button.

I think it's something like 2.5 lbs (electric) with regular servos. Therefore a .15 is good.

RE: Boy, THAT was stupid....

In the past I was hospitalized for crashing a bike at 40MPH downhill into a parked car (broke a leg, and got severe hit in the forehead); crashing while skiing (broke a finger) and hang-gliding...

RE: Want to buy: ARC wings

Tom,
Thanks. I will first check whether the replacement wing for Hobbico Strudy Birdy fits my needs after some modifications, such as installing the Servo UNDER the wing. Seems like the right...

RE: PARKZONE SUPER DECATHLON

4CH RTF - Look at Wattage Corsair. Has 4CH Transmitter. I wonder if it can be modified with 1 more Servo and a little less dihedral. Not sure if the battery/motor/ESC is sufficient for this extra...

RE: Help!!! - Crashing on takeoff and cleaning the mess

I unintentionally try to teach the plane to float without enough speed. The good thing about this plane is that it crashed a few times and nothing happened - this is made of Coka-Cola type plastic,...

RE: Help!!! - Crashing on takeoff and cleaning the mess

The only thing it has enough is power. I wonder whether landing at 1/5 throttle will soften the landing. Since the landing speed, which is a little too high, is determined by wing loading (and...

RE: Help!!! - Crashing on takeoff and cleaning the mess

Now that I am have soloed, I realized that the answer for the crashing on hand launch is the default one: the thing has just too much wing loading. It requires either a windy day or a strong,...

RE: Are you retired/unemployed/kids?

Well, I had cables only for a month - and it was in 1993. We have a TV, which is primarily used for decoration. with a newborn and 60hr work weeks I don't have much time. I also don't have a...

RE: Are you retired/unemployed/kids?

I will forward your response to my wife![sm=thumbup.gif]

BTW I see that you improvise locks for your desk drawers - are you hiding a YS140 that you don't want to share with your kids?;)

Are you retired/unemployed/kids?

I don't get it. I got back to the hobby 2 years ago and I am obsessed. Still, I don't see how, with a family (wife+kid(s)+dog(s)+mortgage) and a 50+ hr American average work week you can build more...

RE: 1/8A Speed plane

I am still not there (designing and building a .010), still playing with my trainers (kits and scratch built). The smallest I designed (20 years ago) were 1/2A trainers. I had bad experience in...

1/8A Speed plane

Has anyone ever built a 1/8A speed plane (around a Cox .010)? Sounds like a fun project.
I remember a kit that looks like a tiny pilon racer in RC Microflight (sometime in '02 or '03) for this...

PropFan

Has anyone ever designed a propfan as a substitute for prop for extreme speed planes? Seems that with the bent blades the sonic tip speed can be postponed, and instead of 30+K RPM the engine speed...

RE: The best speed engine

You know why Giant scale extreme speed planes have potentially higher top speed than QM-size one?
Because frontal area (and hence drag) is proportional to the square of the dimension of the plane...

RE: Running in of an old engine

So what is an OS FSR - an ABN, ABC or something else?
BTW I did run in the LA25 (ABN) the wrong, rich, way. Are the implications just short termed or should I expect a short engine life?

RE: Questions about rebuilt 25FSR

Bill
Regarding the 25FSR, because of a crash decades ago, I needed to increase the size of the holes of the carburetor (and the engine, for the carb). Unfortunately, I increased the size without...

At that price I could get a Macs Muffler (heard that they add RPM as well):
