RE: Balsa USA, 1/4 scale EAA Bipe build

Mine handles on the ground pretty much like a cub. I can see the benefits of adding ailerons to the upper wings, but I'm not sure I would do so if I had it to do over again. This airplane is about...

RE: Throttle linkage

The throttle arm can be adjusted exactly as you suggest on my os engines. There is a separate screw for the low-end needle adjustment. I don't own any magnum engines, but I imagine it would work...

RE: O.S.70 Surpass whos got what with what?

The OS 70 surpass is perfect with the ucando 46. It flies well with a 13x6 prop, but I think it does a little better with a 14x4.

RE: Building the world models clipped wing cub-48

I have had this plane for about 4 years and agree that it's a great flyer. I like it for just puttering around and doing touch-and-gos.
I fly it with an OS 52, which is the right amount of power...

RE: World Models Super Stunts 40

I think this is a fantastic utility plane. It is built very lightly and so therefore might be a little fragile. I flew mine with an OS .46fx, which was a good combination. I did the taildragger...

RE: Super Chipmunk - Help Needed

The trainer function on my Futaba 7C allows you to let a student pilot control selected channels. Would it be worth it to fly if your friend could fly the throttle and rudder and you could fly the...

RE: Trimming with Ultracote

I've experienced the curving straight line effect and redone quite a few pieces to fix it. Try using a wet paper towel along the straight edge of the ultracote trim as you iron it down. This keeps...

RE: CG Chipmunk engine/muf and covering Question

Thanks for the replies. I will start with expanding the cut-out for the cylinder head. If that doesn't work sufficiently, I might try the split-cowl method suggested by minnflyer. I'm still...

RE: CG Chipmunk engine/muf and covering Question

I'm building the goldberg chipmunk right now and have installed my os 91 four stroke sideways. I've cut the cowl so that the cylinder can stick out into the breeze, but am having trouble finding a...

RE: joining wings

When possible, I put a #64 rubber band on the leading edge dowels and another one on the nylon wing bolts.

RE: Camera Systems

Check out the new one available at www.hobby-lobby.com. A friend of mine has one and it seems to work pretty well, both as a camera and a video-camera.

RE: Book

Try Harry Higley's series of books. I have a few that are good:

Bipes - gives lots of good advice about building techniques, not just for biplanes
Mostly Mounting - shows various examples of...

RE: Which flight sim to buy?

We did a side-by-side taste-test comparison of G3 and Aerofly Pro Deluxe at one of our club meetings. Everybody who has G3 at home liked G3, and everybody who had AFP at home liked AFP. Interesting...

How about Hangar 9's new cub arf? For cheap sport-plaint alternatives, how about the World Models Super Stunts 40 or Sky Raider?

RE: YS 140 Sport starting advice

I'm running YS 20/20. I started at about 2 1/2 turns on the HS needle, backed it off a little from there at full throttle.
