Does anyone know where I can get a new cowl for this? I have an ARF - PTS from 2006. Here it is:

Does that make it a Mark-1 ? It...

I installed the Saito 125 in mine. Fit and weight was fine (just adjust your battery for CG). It hand-flip started and ran great. Responsive throttle and plenty of low-torque power with 15x6 MAS....

RE: Brookstone Micro Heli's-anyone have one?

I just got a Brookstone Phantom as a gift.

I fly RC planes, so I suppose this is the first heli I have ever flown (not counting simulators). Do you still have yours?

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

Screw holes for servos might be too stripped out to have and "bite" any more.

What I would probably do ...

On old side (will become bottom), use epoxy or CA glue to glue toothpicks into...

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

Edited it again.

Summary: Those aileron linkages are very wrong. Sorry, but at least you caught it before it got in the air.

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

You will like that new field equipment. They will make the plane much easier to start. A glow-plug starter, a battery operated Prop. Starter, and a fuel pump are what I would concider as the basics....

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

Cool ... I'll be watching out for them. :)

And you were saying something about motor mounting being wrong previously. Well, you don't have to use that lame wood-screw method if it got screwed...

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

Have you downloaded the manual?

Did you look at the close-up pics on my website? (click to zoom-in)

There shouldn't even be a question about the aileron servo. All .40-.46 sized planes only...

RE: AirCore 40 Trainer Instructions

I would NOT move it to the tail. It's tail-heavy enough as it is (and I even had a larger OS .46fx engine in mine). Plus, where it is in the back of the power cart., it is pretty much in the tail...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

I thought a OS .91fx (a high performance 2-stroke) was about the same as a Saito 1.10-1.25 4-stoke (full out power wise). I think the 4-stokes just have better low-end torque.

I have a Saito...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

Yes, thanks. With the free shipping, they are cheaper than Horizon.

And for $54.77 you evenget a new hatch/canopy. I haven't ordered any spare parts yet, but I've noticed that most of the parts...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

I haven't had a chance to go fly (or do any RC stuff for that matter) for some time. After you stop logging in here for a while, the system stops sending thread posting notifications ... I thought...

RE: New Seagull Edge 540 "68

My recommendations are:

95mm for sport flying (and maiden if new to this size/type of plane)
100mm for 3D flying

The heavier nose makes the elevators less sensitive (less extreme)

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

It's always "exciting" when you maiden your new plane on high-rates :D

Glad to hear your like your Edge and that it's second flight was a little more normal.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Mix up some 30 minute epoxy and then thin it with a little regular isopropyl rubbing alcohol (like at a 4-1 part mix). It should paint right on. Allow 24 hours to dry. I use it on all my firewalls...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Looks good with the Pitts muffler. Nice to see you took the extra time to move the motor mount. All around good job.

How does the header tank work, or is really just to increase capacity?

RE: Seagull Edge 540 .60 VS Aeroworks Edge 540 .46-.60

I can fly all the normal maneuvers with the Seagull Edge. I'm just getting into 3D. I can hover it with the canopy towards me but I bail out then it starts to spin. Needless to say, I only try it...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 .60 VS Aeroworks Edge 540 .46-.60

With the Saito 1.25, I run a MAS 15x6. The Saito manual lists several 15~17.

I'm was looking at the pics of the pull-pull rudder install and I noticed another difference. Only one elevator servo...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 .60 VS Aeroworks Edge 540 .46-.60

Yes, I remember reading that in an old thread, but no ... I've never had that problem. It's suprising because it's a sturdy aluminum tube and the same tube is in all of Seagull's planes of similar...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 .60 VS Aeroworks Edge 540 .46-.60

Well, I only have experience with the Seagull Edge 540, but if you have a Saito 1.25, that will work perfectly in the Seagull (over-sized but in a good way ... helps balance out the 3 servos in the...
