RE: Engine life

Something that hasn't been mentioned probably should be...How does the engine run right now? I would never buy an engine that I haven't seen run as part of the purchase agreement.

RE: Recommend an Onboard Glow

I second what RCPilot100 said. Andy Low, the owner of Electrodynamics is very knowledgeable, an active RC pilot from helicopters to jets and very good to work with. It's for these reasons that I use...

RE: Air Compressor set up - water trap and hose length?

For what it's worth... I've used my compressor for over 30 years now, including a lot of painting of cars as well as some painting of planes. The way I have it set up now - for space saving as well...

RE: Northstar mods for a 65 4 stroke

First of all, make sure that the cable only has smooth, large radius bends. Any tight bends will cause hard movement and potentially sticking of the cable. I have also used two different sets of...

RE: Northstar mods for a 65 4 stroke

The battery and servo are already in the nose of the Northstar. There's more than enough speed and thrills from a Northstar powered by an engine such as the OS 46 FX or ST 51. Even with the ST 51...

RE: Big PBY?

No, the plans from Fred are certainly not bad. In fact, they are very well done. When I bought the plans from Fred I was living about 20 miles from him in Michigan so I went to his house to pick the...

RE: Moki 210/180 Muffler screws frequently unscrew

Though I haven't used it in this application (and have in race car - full scale - applications) Loctite has an aerosol cleaner which is great for this use.

RE: Moki 210/180 Muffler screws frequently unscrew

While I certainly agree with balancing props, spinners, etc., the Moki muffler is very prone to comimg loose anyway. After a number of times having the muffler on my 2.10 come loose and hanging on...

RE: With all of this talk of 2.4 ss... !!!!!!

The above was posted in response to my post which referenced cost issues - showing very little cost difference between equivalent 72 MHz and 2.4 GHz systems. It's perhaps worth noting that my post...

RE: Midwest exstra 300

If you kept the pieces - all that you could find at the debris field - you probably don't need the plans from anyone, as you ought to be able to fit them back together as you would with a jigsaw...

RE: With all of this talk of 2.4 ss... !!!!!!

RE: Midwest exstra 300

The only difference between the Midwest 300 and the 300 XS is the airfoiled tail feathers on the XS, so that shouldn't keep you from using the Midwest plans - since your tail feathers seem to be OK.
