So this is a complete Thunder Tiger Augusta A109 kit. It also has a Raptor 90 SE kit for the internals. The only items I see that are not in the kit are a muffler and the main blades. There is a...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Guys, I have posted my plane in the classifieds section, so if anyone is interested, I have reduced it to $2500. That is a steal! I just need to turn some stuff into cash, so I am reducing the...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Dick, no response from Chris on the cost of the gear and pants. Do you have any idea what you would want for your factory gear and pants.

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

I have no idea what he sells them for? Shoot me a price. Bodyworks may need them worse than me, as mine are still functional, but busted.

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

www.graphtechrc.com is working on CF gear, as I have also inquired. He said that as soon as he had them made that he would list them on the site. I haven't seen them yet, but I am awaiting them...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Dick, are you going to get rid of the landing gear and wheel pants? I need both, as I busted a wheel pant and I also busted the landing gear when drilling them.

Thanks
Jon

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Well, my maiden was today. The wind was blowing 5-10, and gusts upwards of 15+, and I couldn't stand myself, so I took off. Man, it flies great! It was funny, as one time I was taxing on the...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

If anyone needs the a new carbon fiber spinner, I am going to sell the one that I got with my Yak from Chris. I paid $85+ (plus shipping, etc) for it, and it is brand new. I will take $80 and I...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Here is my choke tool, and yes it can be difficult to see in there, but it is not bad at all. The velcro is so that I can attach it to the plane and not leave it at home when I go to the field!

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Yes, I am probably over analyzing this, but I just can't put this much money in the air and not feel good about the setup. I think I may just also get the setup from SWB that I have on the servo...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Well, I just did a quick test like someone else did a while back and with the stainless wire from swb, I found that with the stock setup you really need to put a knot in it. Just looping it three...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Yes, I have the SWB setup on the servo end, and I love it. I will try to see what they have, but I have also seen that Airwild has some nice units.

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

OK, the stock rudder cable hookp setup did not work. I went to the field for a maiden, got everything ready, and was going to taxi out, when I noticed that the cable had popped out. What is...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

OK, I have a Futaba 9C, so from what I am reading, I need negative expo on both up/down, left/right? Is this correct?

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

matus777, yes the foam and straps seem to be holding the regulators fine.

OK, now for an expo question. When they say 65%, is that +65 in both directions, or +65 and -65?

I understand what...

Here is how I mounted my Fromeco regs. I highly recommend the little straps that Fromeco sells also. I mounted mine on foam.

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

Well, I decided to just use a metal rod with a 90 degree bend in it, and reach in and choke my engine. Once it fires, I reach in, take off the choke. Now, I just have to keep up with my homemade...

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

DrScoles, I ordered and tried the latches at the current canopy mounting bolt holes, and they will not work. They are not long enough. Just get the other canopy latch and install it.
