I just finished my UFO and test flew it. It is much harder to fly than the DF requiring constant input. I have not balnced it yet .....should fly better when I do.
It is marginally heavy and...

RE: Best rotor paint?

I have a Roalnd Camm 24 and Roland colorcamm. I did the NASA decals on the "Mars Lander" with my colorcamm pc 60. Look under my posts for the "Mars lander" and it will show the red vinyl.

RE: SAUCER

The TI as I understand it is primarily used for hovering while utilizing the camera platform. Since I don't use the camera and enjoy flying the DF similar to a heli, there is really no need for me to...

RE: SAUCER

Sky,
No TI....as of now. I really don't like to fly with it. Once I get the bugs worked out I may consider it. I'll have to wait and see the charcteristics of the disc in the wind. Thanks for all...

RE: SAUCER

The frame stiffners were not used in the photo. I have seen those lights you are referring to Sky but really have to consider the weight issue. Yes Sky I will try to cover the rotor opening w/mesh...

RE: Mars Lander

Yes Sky I have thought about mesh but can't figure out how to form it. If I had to make a frame then I am getting back to the weight issue.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Mars Lander

Are you referring to the ones in my gallery? If so those are made from carbon fiber tubes. They were functional but I would not recommend them sec. to weight issues.

Thats correct Sky. It will be enclosed in a round disc with openings for the props to pull in the air...much like the experimental Avro in the 60's (I believe).

RE: Mars Lander

I don't really have much problem w/orientation as I try to focus on the rear of the canopy when flying and not the rotors. Keep in mind I fly this like a helicopter. I usually fly no higher than 30'...

RE: New Canopy

Thanks Sky & John,
It is fun to fly...actually flys better since I laminated my blades as Sky recommended. I laminate with sign vinyl and it sure does make it stable in a hover. I cut and make...
