$1500 is not much in this hobby. I had more than that in my first kyosho buggy before engine, tires, radio ect...

The C6 should do the trick. I would not go with a .28 unless you want to refuel alot more often than the v spec. If your looking at a used c6 or a new go tech I would actually recomend the go tech...

I don't have any barrels but I have a ton of lumber from the trees that were cut down in that area that I was going to use for things like that... Barrels do sound like a good idea though..

the thing i've found with all the RB's that I've owned is that the temp during break in does tend to get a little high but then all of a sudden they drop like 40+ degrees thats when I know it's ready...
