RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly

I just put my DA in the middle of the fire wall. I had to cut the wall back a little bit so I took the same amount off each side but it deff had some right thrust built in. My elevator was fine...

RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly

Yeah, the price makes it worth the aggrivation. I hear nothing but good about the Brilleli engines so you should be happy with that combo, my yak has great vertical so you should be really happy...

RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly

Yeah, sounds like I got lucky because like I said although I thought it was too thin and cheap at first it is holding up well and the paint will not crack for some reason even though you can flex it...

RE: KMP/eBay YAK-54 Build and Fly

Wow, my cowl is very thin and flexible but the paint job is perfect and it holds up fine on the plane. I love the way it mounts to the plane also. Sorry about your mess. Good luck, Mike.

RE: ST 2500-3250 Fuel

If you were wondering why you need less oil in the big engines, the fuel/oil mixture a volume which is a cubic function. The parts to be lubricated by the oil are areas which are square function. You...

RE: Moki 210

Good advice propwash, the moki is a great engine if you take your time and break it in right. They have a ton of power and the best low end need valve I have ever used. Because they are build so...

RE: Dave Patrick super cub

I think what bud said is correct. Dave keeps getting put behind the bigger companys so his hands are tied. I don't think he gives you any time frame because he doesn't get one.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

My ultimate profile has a lot more drag than this plane. It's the sig I believe I built it years ago and still have a blast with it.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

MY pitts ballanced perfectly with the 1.08 on the first try with the battery tucked in the space above the landing gear. :)

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Dingawing, what problems did you have with your engine. I bought mine used and had to replace the needle valve. Good news is I figured this out on the test stand. The problems I had in the plane...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I had a lot of trouble with my O.S. 1.08 and dead sticked my pitts several times before I got it all worked out. This plane is not a glider but I had not trouble at all getting mine back in one...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

The 1.20 is the engine the plane calls for so I think it should fly basic patterns fine with it. You just have to fly it on the wings. I have the 1.08 2 stoke and its plenty for casual flying, it...

RE: Moki 210

Sounds like you are on the right track, either old gas or the plug. If the gas is old it will start to get water in it. Sounds like the plug though. Try an OS F plug they like them.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I never had any problems with fuel lines but I have been told its a good idea to store them this way because it keeps the motors bearings lubricated.

Yes, Home Depot has the hangers. They have all different kinds in the same isle as the peg board accessories. I have a bunch of them in my shop.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

The OS is TOO heavy if you dead stick this plane. As we all know a biplane has lots of drag and I would not want to have it heavy with no power these things drop like a brick. I'm sure its not WAY...
