Been gone a long time, what's new?

Been out of the hobby for some years now. My son (now 7) wanted me to pull out the rc cars in storage and run them again. So out came the Min-Quake and the XMT4 (a toy basically, made by a-tech, who...

Do good hovercrafts exist?

I've seen boats, planes, cars, helicopters, tanks and ufos, but other than the old nikko toy hovercrafts, I've not seen any good ones....do they exist?

RE: My informal review of the A-tech XMT4 1/18th scale Mini Truck

After doing a little more with it, I have discovered two things:

A full charge on the battery lasts 1 hour.

This thing loves to throw dogbones at any moment. Not sure why this is, but after...

My informal review of the A-tech XMT4 1/18th scale Mini Truck

They can be had on eBay for pretty reasonable sums of money, out of Hong Kong of course.

So I figured what the heck, ordered one.

Came in today, had a chance to look it over and play with...

RE: Opinions on the new(?) A-Tech 4wd buggy?

Hiya Dragon-

Unfortunately, the video only shows the chassis running on asphalt. It's a buggy, run it off road so I can see what it does.

It does look a little bouncy tho- my guess is...

RE: rc snowmobile

BTW-

If you go looking for a Kyosho Nitro Blizzard, www.ultimatehobbies.com has them for the cheapest around, ebay prices (for used ones!) go for higher than that store sells them for new.

RE: rc snowmobile

For what it's worth, The company that made the ArtAttack is defunct. Getting replacement parts might be a tad difficult.

As an alternate, you can look into the Kyosho Nitro Blizzard, a...

RE: RC18 vs Storm drain inlet

Not nearly in the same league as yours (and I feel your pain) but I took my Mini Quake out for a run in the snow last winter.

Lots of rooster tails, slides and runs through slushy ice water.

RE: Miniquake problems?

I've got a MiniQuake.

Stock. Very tough truck, but I'm starting to break things on it now, but I'm very hard on it too. It's not difficult to work on, and I've not noticed the issues you...

RE: A question on Tamiya r/c cars-

Raman-

Even used to the costs of parts to restore Italian exotics, those Tamiya prices for "hop ups" are obscene!

But thanks for the heads up all the same.

RE: A question on Tamiya r/c cars-

I've owned a number of exotics and semi-exotics (I have a very good job) the Lancia 037 and a TVR (here in the US) just to name a few. Also Alfas (my main love) but quite a few jap sports cars (TT...

A question on Tamiya r/c cars-

Many of the cars that I have owned in real life (Alfa, Lancia) have been simulated as r/c cars by Tamiya. Most notably the Lancia 037.

The model base, if you will, is based on the TA03 chassis....

RE: No love for the Mini Quake?

I paid 150$ for my mini-quake. The whole thing is stock (380) motor and a duratrax 1100 battery for it.

On a proper charge, I can run for 20-30 minutes.

RE: Kyosho Blizzard questions

That's not exactly what I was looking for there....

Are you speaking from a voice of experience, do you have any alternatives, or are you just spouting off?

RE: No love for the Mini Quake?

I have found my Mini Quake to be *extremely* rugged. I even ran it in the snow, and had the electronics smoking due to all the water, and yet it still kicked up rooster tails of slush and had fun.

Kyosho Blizzard questions

Please move the thread if it is in the wrong place, not certain where to put it.

Are these snow cats still being made, or is ebay my only option?

Anyone know how fast they are, or what kind...

RE: bye

Speaking of *real* cars:

My very old (and thus out of date) website about what I own and drive:

www.angelfire.com/va2/AlfaFiles

Since the last update, I've owned a 1976 Alfetta and a...

RE: Question about 1/12 scale "carpet knife" cars

Ah, I see, but the 1/10 scale standard electric cars sit pretty close to the ground as well, yet have advanced suspensions, or are "carpet knife" cars designed to be run only on certain environments...

RE: Question about 1/12 scale "carpet knife" cars

I think either I worded my post poorly, or you mis-understand me (English isn't my 1st, or 2nd language)

I wasn't bashing them, I was curious why such a simple (I think that's a better word than...

Question about 1/12 scale "carpet knife" cars

Why are the suspension designs so primitive? I've seen a few 1/12 scale cars and they darn near have no suspension at all, I must be missing something, what is it?

No love for the Mini Quake?

I see tons of posts about the (correct me if I get the name wrong) rc18t, but virtually nothing about the Mini Quake.

Am I missing something obvious here? It seems like a tough and fast truck...

RE: Why Trinity and RCCA suck....

Far be it for me, a newbie, to stop your bashing, but you still haven't addressed the question Trinity brought up.

He seems to be asking why the rules contradict each other. No one has addressed...
