RE: First SPAD please help

I built and flew a Spadet with a Super Tigre GS40 ringed engine. Take off was short and flew just fine at half throttle. I managed to fly several laps around the field with no problem. The Spadet...

RE: Spad restlessness

Since I managed to get my one and only glow powered SPAD to fly on its first try, means I know everything. There is only one kind of SPAD that will fly, the Spadet. So that may explain your...

RE: Spad restlessness

I thought the title of the thread was 'Spad reslessness'. Sounds like a perfect title to express someones design frustrations.

Maybe Agent Mulder didn't realize the X-Files got canceled.

RE: Antenna Problem Crash

I'd expect those $2200.00 systems to raise the antenna for you.

RE: A big thanks to Kraut and Tatoo!

I'll second that emotion! My Spadet was my first attempt at flying a glow model larger then a .049. That plane knew how to fly better then I did. Thanks again!

RE: Richmond Va LHS

I think that is a requirement for owning a hobby store. And they always have a small dog running around. I bet they train the dog to smell money.

RE: Firebird IIST vs. Firebird Scout (and a Battery question)

The tail boom sits in a pocket inside the main fuse. Make sure that glue joint looks good. If that came apart and was simply popped back into place, the plane won't fly right. That and a bad circuit...

RE: Asian Rocket program.

I particularly laughed at the spread eagle, face down landing. It made me think of a flying squirrel.

RE: Asian Rocket program.

The movement isn't him jumping, it looks like his shirt is being yanked up.

Have they managed to flood Europe with CSI-like shows yet?

RE: Firebird IIST vs. Firebird Scout (and a Battery question)

Co-worker and I both have the HobbyZone fighterbirds. We spent like $180 on each plane, and have put in probably close to another $100 on batteries, chargers, and parts into each plane. The...

RE: Radio range check distances

I've heard that before leaving the antenna down can cause long term damage. Something about all the radio energy not having a place to go. Maybe that was just with the antenna removed, not collapsed....

RE: Firebird IIST vs. Firebird Scout (and a Battery question)

BatterySpace.com is where I go for batteries. They also have a pretty good peak charger for like $30. I pay less then half of retail for my FighterBird batteries.

When you can fly as good as...

Does that mean it takes at least an hour before he can fly it, and only fly it once?

Any way to verify how real that stunt was? Some views looked a little suspicious. Either way, it was very entertaining. But if the video was manipulated, I won't bother trying to launch my younger...

Running out of money

Ever since I sank my 'life savings' into my .40 sized trainer, I've been a little short of funds in the hobby department. What are the chances that I would poses some skills that could help me earn a...

RE: Another Spadet Flight!

I've entered flights 3 and 4 into my log book. Some of the ugliest take off's and landings in history. Landing on flight 3 was on the runway, but nose gear first. Landing 4 was dead stick in the...
