RE: katana snaps with minimal elevator input

If I'm reading your first post correctly the elevator pushrod is a single wooden dowel with the metal rods in a Y to the individual elevator halves. Have a Modeltech Sukhoi that was set up the same...

RE: Lemme hear what you got to say about SIG SOMETHING EXTRA

If you like the SE because it's 3 piece check out a Hard Bet (I think the plans are free at HSRCM?). It's kind of like a SE with a major attitude.

RE: Hard Bet Build

Kevin;
Actually just the opposite. SE's got a much smaller leading edge radius. Wing thickness is about the same but the thickest point is further back on the SE.

RE: Hard Bet Build

I've got the Hard Bet and the SE and fly them both all the time. If I were switching wings I'd put the Hard Bets on the SE. The Hard Bets wing does everything better especially slow high alpha.

RE: OS .46 vs Super Tigre .51 in 3D Profile Plane

I've got both and although I really like the ST51 I prefer the OS46. You need to put an OS or Tower muffler on the ST51 to get rid of some weight and the carb's murder on throttle servo's and low...

RE: *Rossi .45 for 3D*

Great engine but I got rid of mine, its got a big case (heavy, uses a 60 size mount) and it makes its power too high (doesn't have a lot of low end grunt). Better choices would be ST51 (Tower...

RE: Every wish you could just fly and avoid all the politcal BS?

Really cracks me up. Alot of the whining in here is from people who've been told they're breaking AMA or Club rules. And the poor baby's are being yelled at, my, my, how rude, they'll of course be...

RE: What's a good radio for the Mini 3D?

The Berg-5*DSPII is the best in the state of the art performance to be found in a R/C receiver available today. Its small, lightweight size is due to the surface mount technology used throughout. The...

RE: Every wish you could just fly and avoid all the politcal BS?

Just took over as president of a club. We've got 68 members that just "want to fly". I got the job because nobody else would step up. Our clean ups and fun fly's may or may not have food and drinks...

RE: NIMH Receiver Pack

Ditto. AAA's on everything. A's and AA's are just a lot of extra weight.

RE: How do you know it is a 3D plane?

Plane also needs an airfoil that can handle the low speeds with a light wing loading.

Large surfaces are to allow corrections at low or no (prop wash) air speeds

RE: 3D aerofoil HELP!

On something that size the thin airfoil will probably have a sharper stall break, not a great thing for 3D. Check the Capiche posts for a comparison of thick and thin airfoil characteristics.

RE: G3 vs. Aerofly Sim - which for 3D

Posed the same question a few weeks ago in the Sim section. Kind of early as G3's just come out but the responses indicated that AFP still gets the nod.

RE: Servo failure mode?

Servo's are Futaba 3004. Checked everything before I took off and it all worked fine. Had it up for a few minutes and in a low straight pass it just started rolling.

Servo failure mode?

Crashed a plane due to an aileron servo going hard over during flight. Reconnected everything on the ground and cannot duplicate the problem, everything works fine with no glitches. The only thing...

RE: Easy Star: Need HELP!!!!!!!!

Flies great out of the box. The RTF flies well and the only change you might want to make eventually is to get a larger battery pack. The kit version I built to use as our club trainer has been...
