canopy failure on 102" yak

On my 4th day of flying my 2 week old Gen IV 102 , the canopy ripped off. I landed and found all 4 screws still in position. The plane had never been in a power dive or even 3D much. The cause must...

RE: Rolling with hard elevator on Yak 102

Resagh, you asked if the throttle is kept at idle through the pull out. The answer is yes. Thanks for the new ideas.

By the way, Composite Arf may not know they need your support service, but...

RE: Rolling with hard elevator on Yak 102

Resagh,

We are all going to miss your fine counsel. Thanks for your response. I will get an incidence meter. But I do not know how to warp the wing by using a hot gun. Please explain or guide me...

RE: Rolling with hard elevator on Yak 102

I have not tested for roll with negative elevator. I will try that. The elevator halves' movement was matched by taping carbon=fiber tubes to both halves and comparing their throw. I have no...

Rolling with hard elevator on Yak 102

My Yak 102 rolls when pulling elevator after a vertical down line. I have applied 3 oz. weight to the rising wing so that it now weighs 3 oz more than the other wing. The problem persisted. I have...

RE: Snappy Extra

I have checked both of the variables you noted. Since I have added weight to the wing that rises, it is now 3 oz heavier than the other wing. This tells me that the problem is the right wing stalling...

RE: Snappy Extra

Tired Old Man I always read and appreciate your advice on the Wild Hare threads. Now I have a QQ Yak 102" and in going through the Peter Goldsmith routine, I noticed extreme rolling action when...

RE: Tail gear for gen 4 102" Yak QQ

Resagh, Your pictures show me what I already had guessed. However there is no significant structure (1/16" ply) in rudder bottom where the screw hole is located. Also there was no screw to bolt the...

Tail gear for gen 4 102" Yak QQ

The tail gear supplied with the gen 4 Yak is not the same shown in the instructions. When the rudder moves the vertical shaft connected to the wheel is supposed to rotate and the wheel moves...

RE: AR 9100 SWITCH

The bind plug seems to be the way to go. I tested the switch and found that when it is in the on position the circuit is open and when off it is closed , thus a bind plug in a simple extension would...

AR 9100 SWITCH

Does any one else out there worry about the $7 switch which comes with the 9100. I know how simple the switch is but this could vibrate to off position and my $4000 plane fly off to parts unknown....

RE: New 35% Extra 300

I have installed cans, using the plywood mounts provide by Tom. After running 5 gallons all seem well, but I am concerned about the lack of air flow along the length of the cans. The mounts block...

RE: Landing Gear Repair Suggestions

Buy some angle aluminum. It usually comes in 4 or 6 foot lengths. Cut off a length to match the aluminum brackets which you bent.
If the verticle sides of the fuse which held the aluminum...

RE: New 1100 mAh A123 available everywhere and no word here!

This means that with the 85, the cg was in the normal position since the inverted flight on a 45 upline was arching toward the ground when the elevator was centered? Then how do you get the 100 to...
