RE: T-Rex Servo Installation

I can email you pics if you like, but will describe what I've done.

First, I do not use rubber grommets on the servos, and have had no problems.

My Rx is rear mounted (full size 7 channel),...

RE: Align Gyro on Trex problem

Norrmannen,

Some good thoughts - I'll give them a try.

Being stuck with the servos on hand (spent current budget on the heli, gyro, motor & ESC), I choose the Esky because a) it doesn't...

RE: Align Gyro on Trex problem

deli_conker,
Norrmannen is correct. This gyro, contrary to the instructions, mounts vertically. It mounts with the sticker vertical, pointing in any direction. But, thanks for the try.

RE: Esky honey bee CP

You will not get more power. If the 1800mah battery were the same weight as a 1200mah, you would get longer flight times. Unfortunately, it's a balancing act. The higher the mah rating, the...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

The 4100 (4100Kv) is Way to fast for the HB2!!!. Someone tried the 3700 (I think), and it was to fast. You would need something in the 2200 to 2700Kv range.

3D SWITCH

Raise the throttle stick to half (heli on the ground). Flip the 3D switch towards you. Half throttle becomes zero pitch, and a little over half power (RPM's). Now when you move the...

RE: Problems with Esky (Honey Bee 2)

casipak,
The metal rods balance the blades, from tip to root, and from leading edge to trailing edge. On such short and narrow blades, this balancing is probably not absolutely necessary. But,...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

jlb0305,
Here are the spec's on the stock 370. Also, check dimensions. The HB2 doesn't have room for much more diameter.

RE: Esky hb2- Aluminum head / swashplate??

The complete aluminum head, with aluminum swashplate is a little ways down this page. The unit is labeled "CNC Assembled Super CCPM Head - V2".

Assuming (HB2 vs. Hornet):
a) the main shafts...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

This web site has an in flight monitor, the HRpoly-x. I have one, but found I don't need it. My HB2 will not fly at under 10 volts on my 11.1v, 1200mah batteries.

RE: Esky honey bee CP

paedbo,
Did you retime the stock 370? How? I've been thinking about straightening the four crimps holding the brush plate and turning the plate a little to advance the timing. Is my thinking...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

Looks to be 24mm (15/16 in).

And you won't go much bigger. The front servo's arm barely clears the motor can. This rules out the speed 400, and I think it rules out the 380.

If you're...

RE: Smooth throdle mod for Esky Tx

I bent the metal clip 90 deg. and down a little. Then experimented a little with the amount of tension ("sideways" bend) the clip was putting on the Side of the crescent assembly. Now I have a...

RE: What is the best way to set the gearmesh on the tailmotor?

Both the main and tail gears should be set with a little, very little, backlash (play). To tight (no play) and there will be a slight loss of power due to binding. To loose and there will be the...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

batfalcon,
I have two 3 cell, 1100mah li-poly batteries. My HB2 will not fly ay 9 volts (usually grounded by 10 volts), so I don't have to worry about over discharge. My charger is rated at...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

Lithium polymer batteries should not be discharged to less than 3 volts per cell. They should not be charged to more than 4.2 volts per cell. They should not be charged at more than 1C (C = battery...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

casipak,
Normal flight is just like any other CP heli. But, make sure you get a "mode 2" (throttle on left stick).

For inverted flight on the HB2 - take the throttle halfway up, then flip...

RE: !!!!!!!NEE HELP WITH 2 THINGS!!!!!!!!!!

My HoneyBee 2 came with two 11.1v, 1200mah li-poly batteries. A serious crash damages one (one cell swelled up). That was two months ago, and I still use it. I doesn't seem to have quite the...

RE: Esky honey bee CP

casipak,
Norrmannen is right. Go with something a little better than the HB2, if budget allows. I have the HB2, and it's not a bad little bird. But, you get what you pay for. Don't get me...

RE: Problems with Esky (Honey Bee 2)

neilbaldwin,
Yes, the tail motor only turns one way. There's plenty of torque rotation from the main blades for left turns!

1 inch longer blades on Esky HB2

I thought I'd give the FULLY SYMETRICAL SPORT BLADES - LONG, found near the bottom of this page, a try. They are 1 inch (25mm) longer, and around 1/8 inch (3mm) wider than stock balsa blades. ...

RE: Sticky Collective?

Try unhooking the swashplate-to-flybar oval links. Then check the flybar frame slider. Will it slide up and down the head? The plastic-to-plastic tongue-n-groove mating of the flybar frame and head...
