Best bang for the buck motor you can get is still the Esky 3900 with a Rino 10t pinion (rino pinion as its steel and will never wear out.the motor as it has more then enough power for that...

I found that rebinding is a frequent occurence and any time you make a major change to settings that you need to rebind and IF you do not follow the correct sequence the bind will NOT always take...

sounds like you need to properly set the servo on the boom. This is covered in the manual. Even if you upgraded the tail you still need to manually check that the slider is NOT binding at any point...

stick to the stock head and replace the swashplate with the metal one off a Eflite ( they are cheaper then the Esky). Most of the replacement heads as your looking at are same as the purple...

stock motors uaually last about 10 flights, same with the speed controller. One of your first upgrades will be to a brushless motor and at least a 30A brushless speed controller (but not a esky speed...

I buy mine from China (head and tail for about 40$ shipping is free) as they are about the same quality as the Esky ones. Both end up needing a little work to tighten them up so they perform better....

due to the way the main shaft bearing are mounted in a king ll you would probably have a bearing mainshaft half life of about 5 min with lexon as it is VERY flexible.
G10 would be the way to go...
