Any Info on the Mako Jet from Sharkjaw Toys?

I recently saw a mention in Wired Magazine about a new plane called the Mako Jet from Sharkjaw Toys. It looks to be an amazing plane, according to the videos on the company website:...

RE: bought a firebird scout, good looking plane

Yes this seems to be a common problem with the Scout, and I had my first one replaced for exactly the same reason. The replacement they sent me was fine until it crashed a few times and now the rod...

RE: bought a firebird scout, good looking plane

Thanks for letting me know that, Ho, and I suspected as much - but OUCH. I do find your reference offensive and don't think it has any place here on the RCU boards where the umbrella is cast wide to...

RE: bought a firebird scout, good looking plane

Yes I know it is a euphemism, but what does it mean? Is it an airplane term?

RE: bought a firebird scout, good looking plane

I have also had problems with the tail rod disengaging from where it fits into the fuselage after a few crashes - and not even severe crashes. At this point I can't seem to get the plane properly...

Flight Sim Program for Mac?

Is there such a thing as flight simulation sofware for the Mac platform? If so which would you recommend to train for flying electric rc? Thanks.

RE: Easy Star or Sky Scooter Pro 2?

Thanks for the info. The Sky Scooter sounds / looks like the one. What battery pack do you recommend for the Scooter and what flight times do you get with it? Can I use a Lipo in this plane with the...

RE: Easy Star or Sky Scooter Pro 2?

Thanks, Music Publisher. Just curious - what is it about the Easy Star in particular that you like? Can the Sky Scooter be flown in a smaller space than the Easy Star? From videos I have seen the...

Easy Star or Sky Scooter Pro 2?

I am newish to the fine sport of electric rc and have been practicing with a Firebird Scout recently, and feel about ready to move up to a slightly more challenging plane that offers greater...

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Fortuna California on the 101 (along the north coast of California) is the nearest town to where I live that has a hobby shop. I'm going to check them out next week to see what they have there..

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Thanks, Greg and Simpleton. Simpleton: which model of Funcraft did you buy and where did you get it? Did you install the tail rotor onto the Funcraft?

Hey Greg that's a great idea. Is the Lightning wing removable with an Exacto knife to replace the Skysprite wing?

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Thanks Greg. My Skysprite, after too many crashes, was not steering reliably at all (too much packing tape?) and now is about 60 feet up in a fir tree nestled deeply in its branches. My only real...

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Where do you recommend I buy the Slow Stik? Is it RTF or do I need to buy a radio etc separately and if so, what would you recommend? I would like to aim for making my own planes in the future, but...

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Thanks, Simpleton. I'll check the cg and the downthrust. It occurred to me that with all of the packing tape I also may have made the plane heavier than it was designed for, all things being in a...

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

Today's flying was not as steady as yesterday, despite better wind conditions. When I glide test the Skysprite, it seems to be fine, but when I fly it the plane wobbles and noses up and down - it...

RE: FMA Skysprite RTF

It was exhilarating, hilarious and only slightly tragic. My fiance and I took turns from the hill at the edge of the large forest clearing that we live within. The plane flew quite well - very...
