RE: 132" Vickers Wellington

That looks great. I have run the Castle 45HV to 65A in bursts. No problems. Be careful running long periods of time in the ground. The system is most stressed at WOT sitting still. Things may get hot...

RE: Hobby Lobby Sr. Telemaster ARF

FWIW I 'built' the ARF and just cut away most of the engine mount rails then sawed off the nose till I could mount the power 60 to the firewall. It came out a little nose heavy anyway. It would have...

RE: Accurate flight duration timing?

Fly 5min then land and recharge your battery. Use the ratio of charge used to determine your total flight time. Set your Tx timer for 2 min less and when it goes off, land. If you have to go around,...

RE: programing cc HV 110 for Axi 5330-18

The noise you are describing is most probably the controller losing synch with the controller. I have a 5330/28 on 12S and with a 22X13 it draws around 3600W. No bad sounds except the prop...

RE: Electric conversion help

Lithium - I have the H9 Miss America. It flies great on 6S with an AXI 4130/16 and Phx80 and APCE 15X10. You don't need the HV. You will need a flight battery pack for the radio or a separate BEC.

RE: Hangar 9 P-51D Mustang 150 Review/Conversion

Greg - FYI My maiden flight on my H9 P-51 (60 sized Miss America) had the gear stop short of retracting fully and flew around too high to see it for about 1:30
UBEC performed flawlessly keeping...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

flynte - The incidences are inthe instructions or on the GP site. Can't remember which. Mine came out exact. That's a first.

GaGeeBees - What a beautiful plane. If I did not already have the...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

Wow That's an impressive picture. I can't imagine the forces required to fail those fiberglass struts.
As I built mine and thought about most of the 14lb being supported by wood screws into...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

I also replaced the cabane screws with 4-40 screws and blind nuts before I flew it for the first time. I just did not like the idea of holding the wing on with wood screws.
I also replaces 2 or 3...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

A scale 3 blade would be between 29 and 19" dia.

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

Hey Bob - Just noticed that you are flying the 5320/28 in your hawk. I was thinking of going that route to drop a little weight off the nose so I can install the Pioneer speaker. What's your Amps and...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

Must be tail heavy. Mine is a little nose heavy with the sound system. I used a Sharpie to mark the CG on the underside of the top wing for quick checks. It can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

RE: GP Electrostreak

I built one from plans at 22oz it is a great flyer. I lightened up the design considerably. My power system is a Mega 16/15/6 turning an APCE 8X6 on a 3S 2100 LiPo.

If you are building it...

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

Notice I have mounted the aileron servos in the wing on a hatch like the DR1. I also made my own control horns and glued them into the surface so they don't show on the other side. I also covered...

RE: Goldberg Electra

Yup. Youll toast the motor or controller or both. Try a 7.4V LiPo

RE: Standard versus Electric Props?

Electric props can be thinner and more efficient because motors make very little vibration compared to engines. You cannot run electric props on engines. They will throw blades.

RE: P-6E Curtis hawk (build thread)

I am flying mine with an APCE 20X10. There is plenty of clearance for a 22" but a scale prop would be about 18.5"
