My first one of these planes I glued both the horizontal and vertical stabs in with thin CA, they were a very snug fit and the CA worked great, there was no way they were going to break out of there....

If you just use the screws with nothing else, the canopy will eventually crack from vibration. On my second ulti I used red vinyl to attach the canopy, looks really clean.

I have a DA-50 in mine with a slimline wrap around pitts, not too much cutting involved. The can does not stick out of the cowl, just the downtubes. No modifications to the firewall either.
